…en het werden er steeds meer…! Afgelopen weken nam het aantal harpen flink toe in het Koninklijk Concertgebouw Orkest: 2 in Ravels Rhapsodie Espagnol, 3 in Brückner 8, 4 in Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique en Schönbergs Pelleas&Mélissande en tot slot als klapper deze week de laatste concerten met 6 harpisten! Met dank aan Wagner, wie anders? 🦁 Baas boven baas. 😉

Het was een geweldig muzikaal avontuur om samen te werken met deze topharpisten en powervrouwen: Saskia Rekké, Petra van der Heide, Sandrine Chatron, Jaike Bakker en Marianne Melchior. ♥️

…and more concerts in this festival Na de Poort: a performance of Duo23 with my wonderful collegue harpist Saskia Rekké! Oh how we love to play this music of Franck, Debussy, Ravel and Strauss!! So much fun!

The last concert for me today was with cellist Douw Fonda. It was a very special one because we played completely in the dark: “Luister in het duister” was the name of this permormance. Douw is a master on the cello playing the famous suite of Bach. An incredible experience listening to it without your eyes ‘hearing’. I played a lighthearted La Boîte á Musique. Together, in the midle of the program, we met in the Ave Maria – Bach/Gounod. It was magical.

Since last year I have been part of Kamermuziek Ensemble Nederland, an ensemble consisting of violin, clarinet, cello and harp. Not many pieces have been written for this unusual but beautiful combination of instruments, so we made it our challenge to arrange any music that we like.

Last week we played at De Klassieken, broadcasted by Radio4, with host Ab Nieuwdorp. Pieces by Shostakovich, Ravel and Piazolla. The day after we performed at Kamermuziek Festival on Landgoed De Paltz at the Herman van Veen Artscenter. The weather was great and the audience enjoyed both the concerts and the beautiful surroundings of the Landgoed.

What a special concert it was in Culemborg in Festival “Na de Poort”! ♥️ Openingnight with my dearest friends and fellow musicians of Atmos4, we played the hallucinant Canto Ostinato for marimba’s, harp and piano in the magical garden of Studio Wollebrandshof. Flowers, plants and trees were our scene decoration. Birds of all kinds accompanied us loudly in the music. Life is good ♥️🍀🌸🕊
